Your First Visit

As an adult new patient in our office, you will be scheduled for an initial oral evaluation with Dr. Niergarth or Dr. Merrithew. This allows the dentists and staff to become familiar with you and your dental concerns and needs. It also gives you the opportunity to get to know us. The initial evaluation will include an oral cancer exam, complete periodontal (gum) charting, and a thorough review of your medical history and overall oral health.

Any questions or concerns you may have will be discussed. We will attempt to obtain any recent x-rays that may be available from previous dentists. However, if a complete current set of x-rays is not available, they will be taken during you initial visit to insure that your initial evaluation is accurate and thorough. Any necessary treatment will be scheduled following the completion of your initial oral evaluation.

Due to the general limited needs of children under the age of 17, they will enter our hygiene department on their first visit, where they will receive a cleaning, fluoride, and x-rays if needed, along with a thorough oral evaluation with Dr. Niergarth or Dr. Merrithew.
